Find Motor Constants
Use this form to determine the motor constants of your motor and also build a graph of your motor's performance. The data below that you enter is data you have either measured or already have on the motor. To measure the data, you will typically need a watt meter and an RPM meter. The motor name that you enter will appear on the top of the graph. The Io, or no load current, that you enter is the current consumed by the motor while running at about your planned voltage and without a prop attached to the motor. The V1, I1 and RPM1 figures represent the voltage, current and RPM of a particular propellor, and the V2, I2 and RPM2 figure represent the voltage, current and RPM of another propellor. The propellors you use aren't critical and it's usually surprising to realize you don't need to specify the diameter and pitch of the prop. Instead, we're merely using the propellors as loads for the motor. Finally, the motor weight is needed to estimate the short term power consumption of the motor.
